How it works
About me
I live on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula. – I have my own fruit trees and seasonal gardens, including hydroponic vertical vegetable gardens, which I made, and use for our home produce. In fact, we have a whole room dedicated to dehydrating and processing food – the most recent activity was processing many kilos of peaches to get 30 jars of delicious preserved fruit.
I have always loved cars and started working on them as a hobby in my early years. Buying, selling cars, painting them and fixing them up was my speciality. This led me to numerous jobs, including at Holden and TAFE SA for many years, teaching a myriad of topics, including early literacy, home maintenance and repair, car repair and setting up the driving school. I worked closely with the local community in the APY Lands for some years. Outside teaching, I was actively involved in plant propagation – harvesting seeds, growing seedlings and replanting them.
Since retiring, I have never been so busy doing the things I love! Outside of keeping the garden thriving, I have a multitude of car and home projects. I am restoring an old 1958 Imperial Crown Coupe . My brother bought a 1950 Dodge Fargo, which we are turning into a Rat Rod with the help of a 2002 Holden engine – two old cars destined for waste have a new lease of life to become one. I also had a pile of old car parts (1920’s T Ford) found in Moonta Mines which I used to put together a car. Making the steering wheel, respoking the wheels , sandblasting bits, repair /paint then put together.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge! I have spent decades learning and teaching and learning some more. It is a pleasure to share this knowledge, and if you have any home project questions, car questions or want to use me as a sounding board for current or future projects, reach out for a ShowMe session.
