About me
- Handyperson
- DIY Enthusiast
- Qualified Physiotherapist
- Business Owner
Hello! I am Matt, and I have been doing hands-on jobs and tinkering away at projects for as long as I can remember! I am a trained physiotherapist and run my clinic. I am passionate about health, well-being and helping others be the best version of themselves.I also enjoy working on a home to bring out its best qualities and keep on top of all the ongoing repairs and maintenance that come with home ownership.
As someone with a vision impairment, I am passionate about helping others overcome barriers by learning skills and building knowledge and a mindset of possibility. I encourage people to expand their thinking on what they are capable of (safety permitting).
My dad is an automotive painter and avid DIYer. From age 6, we always had projects on the go – house renovations, garden projects, you name it, I have worked on it. Endless projects can be done DIY but require skills and knowledge. I have experience across several activities, including wall cladding, rendering, painting, restoring items (like bringing old shower screens back to life), fixture replacement, salt damp and crack repairs. Outside the home, I have built garden feature walls, irrigation set up, installed sheds, and made outdoor benches and garden beds.
I regularly get calls from friends to help them solve DIY challenges around the home. Often, they want to bounce ideas off me and problem-solve to find solutions. Most recent discussions have been making a home chook pen, ensuring the fencing is secure and suitable. General fixing of things, like gap filling and plastering, are also popular discussion points.
